Hi Jonny, I love how open and honest about everything you are. And how you don't just show the good parts on socials and make us feel like even the strongest of humans are still human and have emotions too and too struggle. I love trying your recipes, cooking and baking help calm the mind so much. I find when your focus on the recipe there no room for anything else to creep in and gives the mind that wee break from everything going on. Having that wee team of people to help when your feeling down and makings those hard days a little less hard is the best. I hope the next few weeks get better for you and counselling helps you navigate through your hard days.

Thank you Gillian, I'll always keep it real here and I hope it helps in some small way ❤️ Cooking and baking is wonderful for that, it takes you away to a quiet place! I couldn't agree more, surround yourself in the ones you love and those that care for you 🙌🏻 I hope our wee community provides that as well🤞🏻 Thank you, it's slow but I'm getting there!

I hada little think to myself recently ,I went through something that should have broken me a little more than it should . But this time around I had a little community of awesome honest friends who surrounded me with love and it really has made the biggest change to my mental health and life ...I realize that they are the reason that those broken days are days rather than weeks or months . They surround us in love and care and do the small things that mean the most . It's all about finding an awesome little tribe ❤️ that show up good ,bad and everything in-between . A big thing I learnt was to let people be there for you . It's essential to accept help despite our stubbornness ❤️

Those words a very powerful Shauna and so true 🙌🏻 We all need support and help at times, surrounding ourselves with those close to us can really make the difference ❤️ So happy you have that brilliant support network around you and you recognise that ❤️ I hope things are good for you at the moment and keep that amazing mindset up!

I’ve said it before but our stories are so similar (minus the rugby 😂) and even though I only found your page when looking for how to make potato bread I stuck around because similar to what Amanda said it’s a comfort to see someone in a similar situation to me and realise that it’s actually ok to just be where you are now and you don’t need to feel pressure to be where other people may think you should be if it’s not the right time for you. I really hope the counselling goes well and glad you’re looking after yourself. I’m really enjoying taking time at this moment in life to put myself first and I think that’s a massive part of the healing process. Like you I am a very loving and caring person to those special to me and my love language even with friends and family is doing things for people and looking after them but it’s so important to realise that we actually deserve to give that same time, love and effort to ourselves as well as others and make ourselves number one for a while ❤️.

Good old potato bread alway leads to something good 😅 Just knowing we aren't alone can make such a difference! I really hope it continues to help Nikki and we are all helping each other 🙌🏻 Thank you, it will be tough but definitely worthwhile. I'm the exact same, we need to be better giving ourselves that same love and attention ❤️

Potato bread will always see you right! 😂. I’ve never actually had counselling but I had CBT for my OCD before which I didn’t feel helped much at the time but i definitely do use the skills I learnt now I’m in a much more rational place. Putting yourself first can be easier said than done but once you start reaping the benefits it becomes quite addictive, obviously I care for my friends and family and would do anything for them but I spent so long pouring all of my energy in to someone who didn’t deserve it and it literally made me unwell so now I’m all for doing what I can to look after myself and protect my peace, I do sometimes worry It means I’ll be alone forever but I guess what will be, will be 😆

Even when it isn't a full fix from something like that we still lear so much from it Nikki 🙌🏻 I've had similar experiences as well but we build up those skills over time! I'm the same but if we don't look after ourselves first and get to a good place the rest will never work ❤️ When it's right that will all fall into place!

Hi Jonny, I hope this in coming weeks are easier for you and you don’t put yourself under too much pressure. Have you ever thought of training kids? There are a lot of kids who for some reason or other have no one to spend time with them. I think you should try this and see how it goes. You have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Lots of hugs to you. Best wishes to nanny and Granda. X

Thank you Carole it means a lot ❤️ I hope by sharing it's helping others that need the reassurance that they aren't alone! I want to get back to my home rugby club coaching a bit but right now I can't fully commit. I never want to be the guy who has to miss sessions with work, etc. Hoping to have get things in a sustainable spot soon and I can have a better routine 🤞🏻 Sending you and yours best wishes as well x

Thank you so much for sharing Jonny and I hope you feel better about everything soon by getting the help you need and acknowledging you need that help. I've had big life changes in the last year or so negotiating grief and also being made redundant from my job of almost 34 years so at the minute I've lost my identity and that feels hard. I'm not sure yet what I want to do next but I've taken time out to try to reset but I'm hoping this year I find my way. Listening to your struggles is really helping me realise it's not just me that feels lost and a drift at times. Much love to you Jonny you're doing a wonderful job building this community and I hope life gets better for you ❤️

Thank you Amanda, I'll get there it just takes time and effort as difficult as it may be. I only share to try and help those in a similar boat ❤️ The identity part can be hard it's about finding that again in whatever avenue that may be! Just know you aren't alone and we will get there together 🙌🏻
