Christmas Cake Decoration

This is how we decorate our Christmas cake, you'll be happy to hear it's very straightforward like all of my recipes. So don't feel like it's a daunting task. The Christmas cake itself is packed full of fruit and flavour and one of my favourite treats this time of year. At Christmas we get to create so many amazing memories, getting to learn and share these traditions with my Nanny is very special. Now being able to share them with you is a real privilege. I hope they are enjoyed and you create some wonderful memories with your nearest and dearest over the festive period.

Step 1

Lightly dust your counter with some icing sugar and roll out your marzipan to the size of your cake. Lightly heat your apricot jam in saucepan and then brush a layer onto your cake. Flip this jam side down onto the marzipan and cut around the edges. Smooth this out with a wee smoother yoke. I'm sorry my Nanny has some equipment that's older than me. But use whatever you may have, like a palette knife.
