Crusty White Loaf

We all love a crusty white loaf and this is a quick and easy one that can be rustled up before lunchtime. It has plenty of flavour in it's soft interior, with a delicious crisp, chewy crust that you'll hear in the video. It might not even get the chance to become a sandwich when you slice it and heap the butter on. It's too moreish when warm and the butter is running down your hand, but who doesn't love that combo? I hope this one becomes a regular, as homemade bread is tastier and so much better for us!

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Sift your flour and salt to a large bowl, also adding your dried yeast. Giving this a wee whisk to combine. Now add your lukewarm water and stir together to form a shaggy dough. Cover for 10 minutes with a clean tea towel and allow to rest.
