Toffee Sauce

This is a handy wee recipe for some sweet and sticky toffee sauce. My wee sister would have always bought a jar of this but now it's my job to keep it stocked in the house. It's main purpose in my eyes is for the classic sticky toffee pudding. She has me converted now, because having this on hand to drizzle over desserts or ice cream is a real treat.

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add your butter, dark brown sugar, double cream and treacle to a saucepan. Slowly melt this over a medium heat and then bring to the boil. You can also add a pinch of salt depending on your preferred taste. Make sure to stir this, so it doesn't stick to the bottom of your pan.
