Apple Sponge Pudding

It's hard to beat a sponge pudding plastered in warm thick custard and this apple one hits the spot. It has that delicious sweet yet tart apple filling, with hints of spice. Then you're soft yet slightly chewy on the edges sponge with a wonderful crisp top. This is one of my favourite desserts and brings back so many memories. It always transports me back to my younger days in my Nanny's kitchen and I'm sure you'll relate to that.
