Magic Cookie Bars

I wish I knew about these wee yokes earlier because they’re so simple to rustle up and serious gear. They have a buttery biscuit base, with a sweet, chocolatey and nutty filling. Once baked it give a delicious crisp base and sticky sweet topping. As the name suggests they're magic and a perfect wee bake for the kids to get involved.

Step 1

Gently melted your butter down in a saucepan and set aside. Fire your digestive biscuits into a bowl and crush these up finely. Alternatively blitz them in a food processor and add to a bowl. Pour your melted butter into these and mix until fully combined. Launch this into your lined baking tin, firmly pressing in and smoothing out with a spoon.

Loving your website! I help in an afterschool cookery club so cannot use nuts - any suggestions what I could add instead?

Thank you Carol 😄 You could just leave them out or add some other chocolate sweets on top? Maybe something with a bit of texture like m&m's?
