Fifteens

It will always blow my mind that people don't know about the humble fifteen. I joke that they're a Northern Irish delicacy but they aren't far off it. They truly are the King of traybakes and that's one thing we do well here, a traybake! I've introduced so many people to these during my rugby career and I haven't met anyone that dislikes them. Other than a few that prefer chocolate to cherries but that's here nor there. They're perfect to get the kids involved but they might just eat it straight from the bowl like myself.

Step 1

Crush your digestives up in a food processor and then add to a large mixing bowl. Cut your marshmallows in 1/2 with some scissors, dipping the scissors in water to help it not stick. Add these to the crushed digestives and mix about so they don't stick to one another. Cut your cherries the same way and add to the bowl, mixing throughout. Pour in your condensed milk and combine with a large spoon.

30 Digestive biscuits

30 Marshmallows

30 Glacé cherries or 150-200g Milk chocolate (or 1/2 milk and 1/2 white)

1 tin Condensed milk

Step 2

You can get your hands involved at the end. Sprinkle your counter with desiccated coconut and lump the mixture onto this. Roll into a thick log coating in the desiccated coconut. Wrap tightly in some tin foil or parchment paper, setting aside to firm up for 30-60 minutes. I prefer them moist and chewy but you can leave them longer or place in the fridge for a harder set. These are so simple but you'll view life differently after trying them!

OMG 😋 I made it with biscoff biscuits and added some honeycomb and Cadbury buttons. I may end up in a sugar coma 😂 This should be illegal 😝

Those look glorious Elizabeth 🤤 I've made Biscoff ones before but never added crunchie, love that idea! My Granda loves Biscoff too, so I'll be sure to make my version soon and get it up 🙌🏻

Can’t beat good olde 15s. Instead of cutting marshmallows I used the mini bags and add chopped walnuts. Love that we extra touch of chocolate. Yum. Tu k x

I always find the bigger marshmallows taste better, maybe I'm imagining it 😅 Love the addition of walnuts though 🤤 There's so much you can do with the 15, they're the best traybake 🙌🏻

First time making fifteens and they are class! Used malteasers and galaxy chocolate instead of the cherries because who’s eating cherries when you can have chocolate!? 🤣. Dead easy to make and perfect with a cup of tea!

These went down a treat at the youth rugby games today. Made a double batch and took some to have a coffee and chat with sisters after. Made with chocolate as suggested instead of cherries 👌

Brilliant, I'm sure the kids were delighted to see you coming haha. The chocolate twist is a good one! Sometimes takes a little more condensed milk to have them nice and moist is all. Delighted you're straight in creating recipes already!
