Ingredients: 225 g Butter; 100 g Golden caster sugar; 125 g Light muscovado sugar; 4 Eggs; 225 g Self-raising flour; 2 tsp Ground cinnamon; 1/2 tsp Ground nutmeg; 85 g Sultanas; 3 Apples; 2 tbsp Honey

This wee spiced apple cake was a true winner. Simple to rustle up, light, spongey and filled with subtle spices. Pair it with some warm thick custard and you're in real comfort. The fact my Granda said 'you could eat a full of a bucket of it' is high praise, so if that doesn't sell you on it I don't know what will.
