Traditional Cornish Pasties

It’s hard to beat a traditional Cornish pasty and I can tell you now these will cure any hunger. They're a special recipe coming from such humble beginnings and so simple to make. The pastry is outstanding, flakey and delicate, melt in the mouth stuff. Then you have your hearty meat and veg filling, the exact thing you need to keep you going through the day. you can see why the Cornish miners had these on the daily. These ones are absolute weapons and tied us well over to dinner time!

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add your flour to a large bowl along with your butter. Mix this through just to coat the butter in flour, do the same with your lard. This just helps it from clumping together. You can work this together with your fingertips to resemble breadcrumbs, or use a food processor like myself. Pop your salt in at this point as well.
