Chorizo and Cheese Soda Farls

I decided to try and find different combo's to go in the humble Northern Irish soda farl. This one was a bit exotic for my Nanny and Granda as it was slightly spicy for their taste. I found it delicious with the smoky, spicy, and savoury flavour from the chorizo. Paired with the creaminess of the cheese. My Granda did remind me of the original and his description from days gone by made me crave one just like it. Fresh off the griddle, plastered in butter and it running down your arm.

Step 1

Add your chorizo to a pan over a medium heat and cook off. This will take a few minutes and you just want it to slightly crispen up. Soak up any excess oil with kitchen roll as it cooks. Pop the chorizo onto a plate with some kitchen roll once crisp, patting down with kitchen roll to get any more excess oil soaked up.
