Nanny's Traditional Christmas Turkey

The Turkey is always the main event on Christmas Day but can get a bad wrap at times. No matter what the big day wouldn't be complete without it. This is the traditional way my Nanny makes ours and I have so many found memories at Christmas with it. She keeps it lovely and moist and the streaky bacon is a welcome flavour addition. The traditional way never fails but I'll definitely be doing my own version at some point. No doubt I'd have it plastered in butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, the bloody lot.

Depending on whether it's a crown or normal turkey this will be different. If you have a crown create a slice down the side butterflying the crown. Now fill this with your stuffing or if it's a full bird get it shoved up it's arse.

I followed the recipes for ham stuffing and turkey - although I did add a bit of garlic to stuffing. My husband said that it was best Christmas dinner he has ever had. Thank you granny 😬
