Hot Cross Buns

These have always been a favourite in our house and I'm ashamed to say it took me a while to make them. I'm delighted I did, because fresh these are head and shoulders above shop bought. They're pillowy soft with a lovely spiced flavour and then you have the sweet apricot jam coating. These slightly warm plastered in real butter is a proper treat. Mum would toast them under the grill which I highly recommend.

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add your flour to a bowl along with your caster sugar, all spice, cinnamon, salt and yeast. Give this a mix to combine. Now add your sultanas, orange zest, milk, egg and melted butter. Bring this all together until its combined.
