Nanny's Steak Pie

Steak pie is one of those dinners you look forward to. It holds that comforting element we all love in food. This one is no different with it's tender steak pieces and rich flavour packed gravy. You'll be surprised how handy this is to rustle up and I'm sure you'll be having a lot more of it once you try it.

Step 1

Season your beef with salt and then we will cook it off in batches. Get your pot really warm over a high heat and add a good knob of butter or oil. Sear your beef off in batches so it doesn't sweat and stew. You want it to brown all over but not loose any of the moisture. As soon as it it's seared all over remove into a separate bowl. Add more butter or oil between each batch and bring the pot back up to heat.

Hi Jonny, Being vegetarian, it's always tricky to have a go for the carvivores! However my 2 boys (husband & son) enjoyed 8t. I used normal stew steak (I live in Scotland now), but next time I think I'll get the braising steak and throw it in the slow cooker! Thanks for a successful recipe and I'm absolutely going to have a go at that Malteser bun thing tomorrow!🤣🤣🤣 Xxx btw love your posts and interactions with your Nanny and Granda. It always puts a smile on my face when a reel pops up on my FB xxx

Hi Máirín, I'd say that can be difficult at times but fair play to you 🙌🏻 I'm glad the lads enjoyed it, it's a good hearty feed that one 🤤 That's one thing I need to use more is the slow cooker, only recently got one as well as an air fryer 😅 You will love the malteser buns! Thank you for those kind words, it really means a lot and I'm so happy it brings you joy ❤️ I'm blessed to have them both in my life, grandparents are all so special 🙌🏻
