Nanny's Steak Pie

Steak pie is one of those dinners you look forward to. It holds that comforting element we all love in food. This one is no different with it's tender steak pieces and rich flavour packed gravy. You'll be surprised how handy this is to rustle up and I'm sure you'll be having a lot more of it once you try it.

Step 1

Season your beef with salt and then we will cook it off in batches. Get your pot really warm over a high heat and add a good knob of butter or oil. Sear your beef off in batches so it doesn't sweat and stew. You want it to brown all over but not loose any of the moisture. As soon as it it's seared all over remove into a separate bowl. Add more butter or oil between each batch and bring the pot back up to heat.
