Gingerbread House

This has become a new tradition in our house and one that brought so much fun. I wish we'd started it sooner because the memories from this one time are already special. Not only does it bring everyone together for a Christmas activity it tastes delicious with its deep ginger flavour, yet sweet and buttery. You can get creative with the design and decoration but it's all about the fun and enjoyment with this bake!

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add your butter, dark brown muscovado sugar and golden syrup to a saucepan. Melt this gently over a low to medium heat, stirring occasionally. Sift your flour, bicarbonate of soda and ground ginger to a large mixing bowl, stirring to combine. Pour your melted ingredients in and mix this together to create a nice firm dough.
