Golden Syrup Cake

There used to always be one of these in our cupboard and for good reason. It will surprise you how easy this wee cake is to make and how it tastes even better. Deliciously moist with a rich, caramel like sweetness. The golden syrup adds an outer texture that's the cross between honey and molasses, giving it a moist delicious chew. This is a classic for a reason!

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add your butter, caster sugar, soft brown sugar and golden syrup to a saucepan. Gently melt this down over a medium heat, stirring every so often so it doesn't stick to the arse of the pan. once melted set aside and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
