My Nanny's Mince Pie's

These are my Nanny's mince pie's and hands down my favourite Christmas bake. The pastry is so delicate, buttery and just melts in the mouth. Combine that with our homemade mincemeat filling it really is a winner. If you've seen my Granda's rating scale lately I've been chasing a 10 and this was the bake that cracked him. I think that says it all for these wee beauties. I hope you give them a try over the festive period and enjoy!

Step 1

Sift your flour into a big bowl and add your butter. Coat the butter in the flour to avoid it sticking in your food processor. Fire in your caster sugar and ground almonds, giving this all a mix together. Add this to a food processor and blitz until it forms into a breadcrumb consistency.
