Guinness Stew

My Granda is a big fan of a Guinness, so I was always going to create a warming Guinness stew recipe for him. The Guinness doesn't overpower the dish but gives a lovely deep and tasty flavour. It's a proper winter warmer and one of our favourites now. You don't add spuds to this like a traditional stew and it might be the way to go. Don't get me wrong the spuds are number one on the list but you could serve this with any side you'd prefer.

I love this recipe, easy to follow and the stew at the end is so tasty. The beef is so soft and tender.

First proper cooked meal of the new year as I didn’t get back from London until Wednesday so I was living off the freezer until now! But I’ve planned my meals for the week and this was a great Sunday dinner to start off with ❤️ full of flavour as always, had to add dumplings though as it’s not a stew without dumplings for me … dumplings and mash was definitely not necessary though 🐖🤣

Nothing wrong with a wee freezer dinner, especially when it's an old school nostalgic one! You've put me in the mood for a dinner of smiley faces, chicken dippers and beans with that 😂 The stew looks delicious and you know what I've never made dumplings, definitely need to try those 🙌🏻

Haha, got to love a beige dinner! I won’t lie I didn’t make the dumplings, they were just a bag of dumpling mix that you add water to 🤣

Nothing wrong with that, sometimes a quick and handy alternative does the job 🙌🏻 The homemade main meal is the priority 😄

I saved 2 portions from last week and froze them. We had them again for Sunday tea yesterday, wow just thought I would let you know the taste was so much better than last week. Definitely a winner of a dish.

That's a great idea, so handy to batch cook for a quick dinner. That's brilliant news, please do share that under the recipe in comments 😄
