Malteaser Buns

One thing we won't be beaten on in this wee country is our traybake's and the malteser bun is an absolute classic. So simple to make but absolutely delicious. You have the buttery, sweet and almost salty biscuit base crammed full of maltesers. Then a good aul thick layer of chocolate to top it off. I could eat these to the cows come home and you'll be the same once you try them. Be sure to make a pot of tea because you won't stop at one with these yokes.

I’m querying whether the amount of butter and syrup you use to bind the biscuit crumbs and maltesers is enough? I used triple the amount and it still wasn’t enough. Also, should I have broken up the maltesers as they all bunched together and it was difficult to spread them evenly. I’m nan expert tray baker - very new to this, so this is a genuine query, not a criticism. Thanks
