No-Knead Bread

This bread is the closest thing I’ve had to a sourdough without all that starter carry on. Plus it takes all the hassle out when it comes to kneading. It also takes away the worry of keeping a sourdough starter alive. I find it hard at the best of times to keep myself alive never mind that, with how busy things can be. It takes minimal work, all you have to do is let it sit overnight. It has a tasty chewy crust, with big air pockets you see in a sourdough. Slightly warm, plastered in butter and you've a real winner.

Step 1

Add your flour, dried yeast and salt to a large mixing bowl, giving this a wee whisk to combine. Pour in your water and stir together until it forms a shaggy dough. Cover it with some clingfilm and allow to rest at room temperature for about 12–18 hours. The surface will look spotted and bubbly when ready. The video shows this well for reference.
