Soda Farl Pizzas

Soda farls are a staple in our house but creating them into pizzas was always a highlight when I was younger. My Granda even claims they're better than the Italian stuff. They're extremely simple to make and take no time. You can be as adventurous as you want, basically like a normal pizza you choose the toppings. I've listed what we normally have on ours but let me know what you throw on to yours. I'm always looking to try the next tasty combo!

Loved these! Easy to make, and so filling! 😮‍💨🐷. Topped mine with sun-dried tomato and truffle pesto, chicken and bacon and of course cheese! Looking forward to trying a left over farl just toasted with butter tomorrow 😍.

These were one of my favourites growing up and still are! Delighted you enjoyed them Nikki 🙌🏻 I'm jealous thinking of your leftover soda toasted with butter now 😅

I loved the pizzas but always like trying things in their simplest forms as well. I’m sure I would have had soda farls when I was little as I have family in Portrush and we were always well fed when we visited but I don’t remember having them, my favourite thing was and still is potato bread! 🥰. The only thing I found when I made the sodas and it’s the same when I make slims and the soda/wheaten loaf as well is that I can never get it in to a smooth dough, I don’t think it really makes a huge difference apart from the look but do you think I’m just not making the dough wet enough? I’m always worried about adding too much liquid or over kneading 😬

Simple is always best 🙌🏻 All of those breads bring back so many memories for me! Just be very gentle with it when you knead it. You can add a little more liquid to see but be very sparing with it, you just want it to come together into a soft workable dough 😄

Practice makes perfect I guess, hopefully over time I’ll master it 🤣. Ended up having my left over soda this morning and it was really good! Obviously had to have an equal butter to soda ratio 😏🐷.
