Tiger Loaf

We all love the tiger loaf that you'd get from Tesco so I had to give a recipe a try. It has that lovely chewy, tiger like crust with a soft and hearty structure inside. It's delicious just plastered in butter but as a teen my friends and I had a lunch special we would create. Stocking up on tiger loaf, rotisserie chickens, coleslaw and cheese the scene was set. Thick slices of tiger loaf lathered in butter, stacked high with moist rotisserie chicken, heaps of coleslaw, thick slices of cheese and plenty of salt and pepper. This will always be a love of mine and we named it the 'Triple C'.

Step 1

Add your strong white flour, caster sugar, salt and yeast to a large bowl. Along with your butter and lukewarm water, mixing together until it starts to combine. Get your hands stuck in at the end to ensure it's well combined. You can also do this in a stand mixer with a dough hook and then knead thereafter.
